In my current position as a staff Physical Therapist at Wishard Health Services, I have had the pleasure of working with Central Brace & Limb Co. They have been the hospital’s primary provider of prosthetics, orthotics, compression garments, and mastectomy products for the past 7 years. I have found the company to be friendly and easy to work with. They do the utmost to communicate well with patients and provide the best service they can for each one. They are very accommodating to get patients scheduled in a timely fashion and will continue to work with patients until they are satisfied with the product they have received.
I work closely with Pat Hobbs, who is one of the certified fitters for compression garments and mastectomy products. She, herself is a breast cancer survivor so she is able to share her personal experience in her interaction with the patient population, which is invaluable. I witness these patients immediately become more comfortable as Pat begins to share her experience with them. She not only offers products to these patients to help with their physical losses, she offers hope to help them deal with the emotional losses, and no price can be placed on this. I witnessed the same hope to a prosthetic patient a few weeks ago as she walked with the aid of her new prosthesis for the first time in 1 ½ years. The joy on her face was in large part due to the effort of Central Brace & Limb Co. I am privileged to work alongside them in providing care for the patients at Wishard.
